Le Gros Lambswool

We endeavor to display color as accurately as possible but, due to monitor variations, your monitor may display the yarns differently than they appear in real life. We also attempt to display the yarns in the bases listed as often as possible. However, we source most of our photographs from our vendors, and since every color is not listed in every base the color may be represented on a base different from the one you are purchasing. Please email or call us if you have ANY questions about the yarn base and color prior to purchase! Your happiness is our every desire!

it is a pure lambswool from a family-owned fiber mill in scotland. the wool is rustic and soft at the same time, it is sturdy, and the bands are handwritten by caroline. the yarn quality is beautiful, presented in a way that feels like home.

technical info : 100g - 190m / 208 yards ; heavy worsted/aran weight.

suggested needle size 4.5 mm/US7/UK7. - 5.5mm/US9/UK5

what is lambswool ? it is actually the first shearing of a sheep, considered high-grade of wool. the difference between le petit lambswool and le gros lambswool ? the thickness of the thread, and therefore also the lenght. otherwise it is the same quality, spun for thicker sweaters and projects !

the little story : when starting to think about a woolen company, astrid was in search of the yarn she wanted to knit her designs with and offer in the shop. she was looking for something rustic, that reminds her trip to norway in 1995, discovering the pure wool from their norwegian sheep, as well as her scandinavian roots, a yarn that would make a sturdy sweater, to be worn through the years. and that rustic yarn would have to be blended with a soft feeling, that felt good knitting with, and of course, that felt good wearing.
